Coghead
Coghead Product & Community Web Site

Coghead was developing a Web-based visual programming environment for non-programmers — a system that would allow poeple to assemble pre-made components to form powerful applications. It was a complex problem being solved by a simple to use piece of software. Their core challenge now was how to communicate that simple message. We would help.

CHALLENGE + SOLUTION
The Challenge: Our challenge was really two-fold on this project. First, we needed to think about how to sell the CogHead product - that is, how to best present it and get people excited about trying the system out. The second challenge was to organize and create an overall site that provides all the necessary content and information about the product to interested and returning customers.

Our approach centered on a simple presentation of the main sections of content - using a simple Web2.0 look along with a partnering blog-section. We spent time considering how the blog would work, alongside the more conventional content that is often reviewed once, not frequently by returning visitors. We ultimately chose the combination view as we felt there was sufficient content to offer return visitors additional incentive to browse. Additionally, we created an applications list that would be constantly updated with currently-created user applications, along with statistics on their use. This network driven content would also become a major focus of traffic on the site.
“It is difficult to capture the essence of a brand, but Zaudhaus was able to deliver an edgy yet highly professional brand design that has been instrumental in helping to drive 25,000+ developers to our product.”
