Contact Path approached Zaudhaus to re-envision the user-interface design for their new server status alerting tool. A service for large server hosting companies, the software helps technicians identify server compatability and performance issues before they happen. The requirement to have a highly efficient and informative software interface was core to the success of the product.

The Challenge:
Take the raw functional requirements and develop a user-interface and functional user flow that not only supports the basic functions but provides further benefits in usability information understanding and visibility of system issues. Make the interface AND visual design distinctive and unique to the company brand.
By working closely with Engineering, we quickly understood the core values that the system brings to customers. We established a priority list of messages and benefits that users take advantage of during each cycle of use of the system. These criteria became the foundation for success of any interface we developed. We then worked on developing wireframes that defined a user-model for the system - reflecting the priority values. Finally, we created several versions of visual design to lay over the functional models we'd created. The resulting visual design immediately won acceptance throughout the engineering department as an accurate rendition of the alerts and notifications that the system offers. Additionally, marketing felt there was great success in the instant understanding that the interface presents to users. esults of the new system HAVE been very successful with customers as well.
