GoFish
GoFish.com

Rising fast in the ranks of online video sharing sites is GoFish.com Their VP of Products came to us for help on three items: Establish the concept of Branded Channels, improve overall flow within the site after people arrive from a search result, and create a simpler process for creating user-channels. We worked with GoFish’s entire product team to develop these concepts and implement.

CHALLENGE + SOLUTION
The Challenge: GoFish came to us as a successful video sharing site, but was struggling to improve overall user-flow. People would overwhelmingly arrive at the site from search-engine results for videos. Upon arrival, there was little exploration of the rest of the site. Users were also tracked through the personal channel creation process and were seen to give up frequently. Finally, from a strategy standpoint, the company was beginning to develop content deals with large brands including musical groups and other television and movie networks. All of these areas needed work and needed to extend into the system with a refined visual design style; and it all had to launch in leass than 3 months.

We worked in parallel on all three endeavors. Our Interaction Team worked on explroing user pathways through the site and developed new models to promote a flow to other relevant areas of the site. With our past experience in video sharing sites, we knew that focusing users on the actual content first, and the details last would improve engagement. Finally, we developed several formats for Branded Channel Bars that could create a modular way to showcase both branded content and user-generated content. All of these areas of improvement, we've seen initial data that shows an increase in user’s total site visit time.
“Zaudhaus’ interaction design helped us greatly improve usability. They were happy to collaborate, make data-driven recommendations
and integrate our feedback.”
