Gridstone Research provides financial research tools similar to those of Bloomberg. Filed SEC documents can be searched and the contents can be reviewwed. Gridstone asked us to help rebrand the company and provide an improved visual interface design to promote easier use to a wider range of audience. We worked with them to develop a new identity, revised UI design, and a new marketing site to sell the product.

CHALLENGE + SOLUTION
The Challenge: Unique to Gridstone is the ability to graph relvant public financial data and see trending and other patterns. We worked with Gridstone to first develop a new brand for the organization that would separate them from the competition and emphasize the innovative quality of the company. From there, we worked to refine their entire user-interface and present a more unified look & feel as well as an overall interaction design that felt less technical and more friendly. Finally, we developed a marketing site to sell the service - helping strategize around the best options for both promoting key features and offering different subscription methods. As a follow-on project, we worked to develop a way for clients to export graphical data to individual widgets that could be embedded in blogs as a means for spreading the benefits of the system virally. The model allows for people to further borrow the information from a blog and drive the visitor back to the Gridstone Research site.

Our solutions brought a clean, simple design to the complex financial research world. The design implementation provides a beautiful, simple and elegant identity as well as more consumer-friendly design to the interface. Finally, the graphing language we developed provides more clarity and strength to the complex information being displayed.
