VidCafe
Vidcafe Professional Distribution Network

A new video-sharing startup with the concept to allow professional producers, directors, and actors showcase their portfolio or reel on a professional environment for others to discover and share. The system would promote the authors, often more prominently than the content itself. We not only developed the presentation of the content but also the tools for users to construct it.

CHALLENGE + SOLUTION
The Challenge: With the YouTubes and GoFishes and Veohs all sprouting, we were tasked with creating a more professional system that focused on more of the preesntation tools and community sharing aspects of a video network. We had to build a site that helped everyone's content look better and present well. We also needed to ensure that the usability was as good as a Flash application or better.

Mostly, we focused on creating a look and feel that would look different from the other casual video sharing sites. Additionally, we made the tools really easy to use frequently. We wanted to make sure users could be productive with the site to create content as much as browse and watch. Finally, we put the author first. They get promoted more than the content itself.
